  • Ron Devlin notified club that Rotary Kitchen Hell was cancelled as we only sold 34 tickets. Raffle will occur. Need to look at a different way of fund-raising
  • Dave reported on Save A Life going forward. Still selling empty capsules (Fiji and Bangkok) but working through the aspirin situation still with Todd Mueller and others.
  • RYPEN has a changed program for March next year so keep in touch and get involved
  • Fund-raising idea from Foundation – Buy a $2.00 mug. Every week put the money you would spend on a flat white into the mug and raise money to donate to the Foundation.
Treasured Furniture Auction - November 12
Auction of Sally's Furniture to raise funds for End Polio Now.
 
Please look at the catalogue before you buy a ticket as space is limited and we need to ensure we have bidders/buyers in the room.  Tickets are $10 and we are just finalising ticketing system.
 
Polio Auction: Spend a little to save a life. Tickets on sale now $10 but targeting buyers only. INVITE the right people to purchase tickets.
 
  • Graeme Dingle Event last week: some #s: 200,000 youngsters per year helped nationally by the programme.
  • Bill Holland spoke about the Japan Cherry Blossom Festival exchange visit next April. Bill will provide more details shortly
Kathryn Sanford introduced the Director of the Festival, John Beech to speak to us about the 10th Biennial Festival.
John spoke passionately about the contributors and the participants in the festival.
The festival is 4 days this year 17-20th November 2016 and tickets can be purchased for one day or all 4 days,
The generous spirit of the artists and the gardeners combined with the local businesses makes the Art trail special but the Festival Hub at the Lakes is the place to be that weekend. Local and national speakers, artists and displays will be available to enjoy. Fashion show and LONG lunch are also on the programme.
This is a premier event in Tauranga and there is something for everyone even who likes to explore different plants, lifestyles and art. Make sure you come along and join the festival.

Sergeant Warren Banks:
  • Commented on the Festival Display at Baycourt with concern
  • Talked about the aeronautic theme for "this day in history"
  • Congratulated the new Tauranga Mayor
  • Sympathised with those who did not win and suggested that Mary O'Sullivan would be very busy soon.
  • Commented on the old boys black tie dinner at Tauranga High School and the fact that Dean did not wear a tie and Greg wore a yellow tie.
  • Talked about some great ideas that turned to custard like the Oral B flosser that can be used as a lock pick.
  • Invited members to a free event with a $5 food and drink entry fee at the Yatch Club for Café Scientific dealing with Osteoporosis. Date? But time 6:30 for 7 pm on the day.
