CLUB SPEAKERS

JANE NEES AND WARREN SCOBIE were the latest to give a potted history of themselves. Both gave poignant and personal presentations of life's ups and downs and gained much respect for so doing.

GUEST SPEAKER:

Steph – this chip off the not-so-old block gave a fascinating account of her involvement as CEO of the Adams High Performance Sector (as well as being CEO of Ngatai Ranginui Iwi Society). The centre has specialised areas in an integrated suite of sports science. Tauranga's the place to be for an innovation of this quality. Many teams and Clubs from  all over are taking advantage of the superb facilities. Think Steamers, All Blacks Women and Men's 7s, Black Sticks and even St Kildas AFC team . There's also cooperation with the National Velodrome. Places like this will make NZ's sports prowess even more prominent of the national and world stage and Steph's passion was well to the fore.
SERGEANT
Rookie Shaun Piper had read a book – The Origin of the Species – but was far more interested in the Darwin Awards citing Bill Holland and Andy Cameron (amongst others) for awards. Very tongue in cheek of course and worth Googling http://www.darwinawards.com/
PARTING THOUGHT from Bill Holland
