Rotary of Tauranga Sunrise presents funds from Treasured Art
Friday 24 September, saw the final wash-up of the 2021 Treasured Art Exhibition and Auction – a collaboration between Rotary of Tauranga Sunrise and the Tauranga Art Gallery.
Old fashioned cheques of $12,500 each were presented to Graeme Dingle Foundation and the Tauranga Gallery Art Bus.  Both worthy charities supporting and growing young people in the wider Tauranga area.
Collaboration is not easy and both parties in this venture agreed that they had each learned different things from one another.
“The event has been a resounding success with quite a number of artists donating their works 100%. Treasured Art has been running successfully for over 10 years, but this was the first time we have had the benefit of such a wonderful venue and expert support from Gallery staff” said Rotarian Kathy Webb. A special thanks to Ingham Mora our principal sponsor and to our partners BOP Times, Kale Print who helped make the event such a success. And all our other sponsors: Craigs Investment Partners, Holland Beckett, Legacy Trust, SignCo and Wave Design. Working together with the Director Stephen Clelland and the rest of the gallery staff was a great learning experience for both parties.

Treasured Art ran at the Tauranga Art Gallery from Monday 10th May until Sunday 16th May. A black tie Auction was held on the evening of Friday 14th which was well attended and very active. Art contributed by some well known local artists was both donated and sold on commission during the event and by silent auction on line.
