Rotary Club of Tauranga Sunrise has a new and very active Environment Committee
Activities of the new Environment Committee:

  • Pest Control in Kopurererua Valley: we’re part of the Rotary Clubs of Tauranga drive to establish and maintain bait-lines in K-Valley.
  • Students 4 the Environment: This project involves monthly Sunday morning events (for instance: planting, weeding, trap-line management…) organised specially for high school and tertiary students. So far we’ve co-hosted three events and an amazing group of students, dedicated to actively mitigating climate change linked environmental damage.
Activities of the new Environment Committee:
Helping to update Tourism Bay of Plenty on regenerative events in the Bay so they can promote these to visitors. Waiariki Park Project is getting close to making our small efforts redundant with their fabulous, on-line, interactive, map-based overview of what’s happening in the Bay.
  • Raising awareness of Coastal Marine Pollution: we’ve just been awarded funding for a project involving storm-water drain nets, information boards and lots of publicity.
