Visitors:  Indeevar Duhan, Shianne Banks, Peni, Aiden and entourage, Roy Dykes, Jason Eves and Cameron O’Neal, Greg Urquhart (Chris Dever)
President Rhonda. Welcome to a very busy meeting

Birthdays & Anniversaries – Viv Dykes birthday on Sunday. Glen Dougal celebrates 16 years in the Club and Ken White 18.

Change Over Lunch - Chris Dever asked for a show of hands for those likely to attend this event. The number of fingers raised was to tally with attendees. The room was delighted to flip him the bird or offer a two fingered salute as appropriate. Omokoroa Boat Club, Saturday 3rd July  11:30am. Coach home provided

Treasured Art – Thanks to all those involved in the Treasured Art Auction. A fine evening was had by all. Art was the winner.

Indeevar induction – Rhonda has this process perfected now, and the induction occurred seamlessly. Even Pat was standing by with an impromptu welcome to Rotary International. Indeevar will join the New Generations committee. Glenn Dougal has been appointed his mentor.  Indeevar provided a brief bio including his father's words: “The world is divided into two types of people, those who need help and those who can help. We're the ones who can help.” He is clearly going to fit right in.

Paul Harris Fellows. Three Paul Harris awards were presented today Ray Scott, Bill Holland (sapphire x 1) and Sally Morrison (sapphire x 3). If it wasn't breakfast time, we would have charged our glasses. We settled instead for a round of rousing applause.

The Water Boy Foundation Peni from Hamilton presented Aiden, a child whose Taekwondo activities the Club has sponsored. Aiden was grateful enough to share his best joke with us. He attends Taekwondo twice weekly and no doubt practises between sessions on family members.

Guest Speakers Jason Eves and Cameron O’Neil (or Winter). The Tauranga Luxury Homes Tour will be sponsored by Oliver Rd Real Estate and will include visits to 7 luxury homes. It is scheduled for the 26th of March 2022, so save the date. At $79 per person the funds raised will go to Alzheimer's and the Tauranga Community Housing Trust. Cameron tells us he sees a lot of privilege in his work but is also aware of a lot of need. His network of contacts has proven crucial in arranging access to the properties, and he is excited to be part of such a worthwhile project. None of the properties are currently for sale so Andy Cameron can breathe easy.

Sergeant Session: Brett Hobson
Brett ran through the winners and losers from last night's budget:- the welfare beneficiaries the workers and the soon to be ex workers. Maori housing gets a boost, as does the Scott Base Resort. The losers, many of whom have not yet been born, are of course our great benefactors, the future NZ taxpayers. Three cheers for them he says. Any action on climate can wait, and the spies get something secret.
He then unfortunately mentioned something about local rates which completely derailed the rest of the meeting. Well done that man!
