International – Glenys ran through the current initiatives – Books in Schools for Vanuatu (Santo) are being collected now - a bit of sorting an culling and they will be ready for shipping. Shelter Box fund raiser/ ROMAC and liaising with RSE workers.

Environmental – John Carlson sought a show of hands for the Planting Day. Most looked uncalloused, which no doubt has changed by now. Bait lines is an ongoing project. The premier of Taking Back our Beach is set for 5 October 5:45 ($25 a ticket). This is the sorry of MV Rena hitting Astrolabe Reef and the BoP community response. Warren Banks has cunningly organised a simultaneous viewing in the theatre next door for his mates. Come and mingle on the Red Carpet with the rich and famous.
New Generations - Indeevar – RYPEN is set for the 3rd week in March
National Science Forum has a Tauranga Girls’ College applicant currently being interviewed & Outward Bound also has an applicant. RYDER – no date yet, but there is a date for the 204 Xmas Puddings that have been ordered. (25/12 if you are in any doubt)
Rotary Exchange – Jan 2024 – looking for 3 more families to host a Brazilian student. If you ever wanted to learn Portuguese, here is your chance. Contact Indeevar.
Membership and Club Services - Kathy stood in for Lisa. Building membership is done through life connections she tells us, &
matching grants with matching
tee shirts. One of which was kindly modelled for us. Poor Barry has been voluntold to be on Roster. Kathy also says we should check our own website out for action..

Sunday was a great day for planting in K Valley, a fine morning with showers as we finished. About 80+ Rotarians, family and friends helped complete the mission of over 2000 shrubs and flaxes. There was tasty BBQ to finish with. Thanks to everyone able to help.
